About Me
I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) based in New Orleans, providing telehealth therapy to clients throughout the state of Louisiana via a HIPAA-compliant platform. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans.
I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and client-centered therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life, and I approach therapy with humility, curiosity, and respect for each client's unique experiences.
MY APPROACH
I am passionate about providing trauma-informed therapy and integrating experiential modalities such as EMDR and Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT). While I have a particular interest in working with individuals healing from complex trauma (CPTSD), childhood trauma, relational trauma, and other difficult life experiences, I also work with people who feel stuck, disconnected from themselves or others, overwhelmed by life's demands, or uncertain about how to move forward. Together, we explore the experiences, relationships, and systems that have shaped these patterns and identify new pathways toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
Trauma occurs when experiences overwhelm our ability to cope and can have lasting impacts on how we relate to ourselves and the world around us. These experiences often shape our nervous systems, beliefs, relationships, and coping strategies in ways that were once adaptive but may no longer serve us. This can contribute to feelings of anxiety, disconnection, self-doubt, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, relationship challenges, or a sense of being stuck. By utilizing EMDR and AIT, I help clients process difficult experiences with compassion and care, creating opportunities for healing that extend beyond symptom reduction and toward greater freedom, connection, and self-understanding.
EMDR and AIT help clients process distressing experiences that may be "stuck" in the nervous system, reducing the overall intensity of painful memories while fostering new insights and healing. These approaches support the brain and body in integrating difficult experiences, allowing clients to move forward with greater flexibility and self-compassion.
I strive to create a culturally responsive therapeutic space that honors the many identities, relationships, communities, and systems that shape each person's experience. I center an understanding of intersecting identities including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, spirituality, socioeconomic status, and other aspects of identity. I recognize that meaningful healing requires attention to the social, cultural, and systemic forces that impact our lives. As we become more aware of the adaptive strategies that developed within these contexts, we gain the ability to make intentional choices, cultivate healthier relationships, and create new ways of responding to ourselves and others.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in the service industry. Because of this experience, I have a genuine appreciation for the unique demands of service work, including high-pressure environments, emotional labor, irregular schedules, burnout, and the challenge of balancing personal well-being with care for others. I enjoy working with individuals in the service industry and understand many of the strengths, stressors, and relational dynamics that can come with these roles.
My approach is informed by Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory. I recognize that many of our deepest wounds occur in relationships and that healing emerges through safe, growth-fostering connections. These frameworks help clients understand how their nervous systems, relationships, and adaptive strategies have shaped their experiences while fostering greater safety, self-compassion, connection, and authenticity.
